The Cranston Fire Department received calls of a house fire on Bay View Avenue just before 10:30pm on February 22, 2012. They arrived to heavy fire showing from the roof of a two story dwelling and quickly called a code red. Smoke poured out of the roof for over an hour. At one point, crews were ordered out of the house and went on defensive operations. No injuries resulted from the fire and firefighters remained on scene for over two hours dousing hot spots on both floors of the house. The house was reported to be vacant at the time.
